Video and Audio Capture

#############################

Question

How to record your screen activity in a video and add your comments to it?

Answer

You can try CamStudio, which is an open source (free!) solution to this problem.

Tips

I reached the best compression (smallest output file size) with the Microsoft MPEG-4 Video Codec V2.

Related Stuff

Another great piece of software is Camtasia Studio, though it's proprietary. It can also be used for editing your screencasts. For other Linux equivalents, please visit this page.

There is also a free Firefox plugin for Windows called Capture Fox. More info here.
