Some Flash videos cannot be downloaded
ProblemFor downloading Flash videos I use the excellent Video DownloadHelper Firefox plugin (project home page). However, some videos are not downloadable with this plugin. Why? ExplanationThe reason is detailed here: http://www.downloadhelper.net/rtmp.php . In short: if the Flash plugin communicates through the HTTP protocol (TCP port 80), then there is no problem. However, if it uses the RTMP protocol (TCP port 1935), then the plugin cannot see the stream :( SolutionI haven't found a solution a yet, but if you have one, let me know. Recommended SoftwareAt http://www.downloadhelper.net/rtmp.php the developers of the plugin recommend the Wireshark network protocol analyzer to find out which protocol is used by the Flash plugin. Some tutorials for Wireshark: |
