Using the Java plugin in Firefox
See https://ubuntuincident.wordpress.com/2010/10/28/java-plugin-for-firefox/. ProblemI don't like that Ubuntu is always late with the latest updates of Firefox. For instance, FF 3.6 came already out but it's still not in the official repository. Because of this I removed the FF 3.5 package and installed version 3.6 manually. It was all good until I wanted to use the Java plugin… I tried every combination but I couldn't make it work. SolutionI had to put back the official 3.5 version from the Ubuntu repository. Now Java works fine. Fortunately, I could reuse my old 3.6 profile, I didn't have to restore everything from scratch. Some links
