Missing Icons

#############################

Problem #1

After an upgrade to Ubuntu 9.10, my desktop icons disappeared. I mean those little icons that are in the menus.

Solution #1

(1) On your desktop right click → Change Desktop BackgroundInterface tab → select Show icons in menus.

(2) To enable icons on buttons: launch gconf-editordesktopgnomeinterface → select buttons_have_icons.

Problem #2

After a reboot all my desktop icons disappeared. Strange, they DO exist in my Desktop folder…

Solution #2

sudo apt-get install gtweakui

Start gtweakui-nautilus, then tick/untick "Use nautilus to draw desktop".
