I have no sound with Flash

Find a solution here. In short:

$ sudo killall pulseaudio
$ sudo alsa force-reload
and then go to System -> Preferences -> Sound and change everything to ALSA

Some well-known packages are missing

I was surprised to see that some well-known packages are nowhere. It seems that they became obsolete :( Here are some replacements:

Flash crashes Firefox

• Check if you have Adobe's flash plugin. Go to about:plugins.
• If you have a different plugin (that I discovered 2 months later…), remove it, and install the flashplugin-nonfree package, which will download the Adobe plugin.

Strangely, I received this new non-Adobe plugin during a system upgrade. Since I had no problems with flash before, these random crashes were a real mystery to me.
