What softwares do you recommend for working with graphs?

Answer

There are several possibilities, but I use the following ones:

(:myCnt 1:). GraphViz
Address: http://www.graphviz.org/. It has a simple but powerful description language for graphs, the .dot format, which can be compiled and thus visualized in different formats (ps, gif, jpg, png, etc.).

(:myCnt:). yEd
A Java Graph Editor. Address: http://www.yworks.com/en/products_yed_about.htm. Not open source, but freely available.

(:myCnt:). prefuse
An information visualization toolkit. Address: http://www.prefuse.org/ .
