Nimony

Nimony is a new Nim implementation that is in heavy development. Eventually, it will become Nim 3.0 when it gets ready.

I asked Araq on the forum (link) why he decided to write a new compiler instead of adding the new features to Nim 2. He replied the following:

"20 years of accumulated compiler cruft and internal complexity makes it very hard to bring all these improvements to Nim 2 directly. For example, after months of really intensive coding, Nim's IC feature is still not ready and in Nimony it's not even opt-in, IC is always active and working." (Araq)
